Triathlon Strength Training Misconceptions

#1. I don't have time for strength training!!!!

Well, think about this. You don’t have time to add an hour to your weekly schedule… You will have a lot of time when you get injured.

If you don’t add strength training and mobility to your training routine, at some point your body will break.

If you are lucky, it may not happen very soon, but the research shows that 9 of 10 triathletes will get injured in the next 12 months.

When you get injured, you will have all the time in the world. You will stop training for 2, three days, maybe a week or even more! You will be away from the practice for a long time.

I think it is much better to work on injury prevention now and enjoy undisturbed training schedule.

#2. I don't want to get slower!

#3. It is too expensive!!

#4. Will strength training make me bulky?
